It’s coaching – not therapy – but it is transformational. We’ll go deep, but stay focused on present-moment energy shifts – allowing you to embody the Happy Calories Don’t Count® principles.

Nope. No food tracking. No exercise mandates. Just a relationship model that works with your body.

Happy Calories Don’t Count® is not a diet. It is a framework for optimizing weight loss and well-being in a sustainable way. Happy Calories Don’t Count® is an entirely different underlying core model than the conventional, traditional, cultural “diet and exercise” model of weight loss.

This program focuses on healing your relationships with food and exercise, body optimization and on total well-being. That said, by following the 5-Steps of the Happy Calories Don’t Count® approach, clients often experience weight loss as a bonus side effect.

A “Happy Calorie” is a concept. “Happy Calories®” is a whimsical expression I coined years ago to describe one’s relationship to food. One long-ago day, after hearing a Pilates client rehash the same negative self-talk over and over again, I finally exclaimed, “Look – it’s not about the chocolate. It’s about your relationship to the chocolate. “Happy Calories” don’t count!” This concept went on to become formalized into my proven, signature 5-Step “Happy Calories Don’t Count®” method. While the traditional, cultural “diet and exercise” model uses calories as a “currency of exchange” between food and exercise (or food and weight gain), Happy Calories® refers specifically to one’s relationship with food. When dealing with the physical movement side of things, I speak of “Happy Exercise®.”

We’re using a completely different underlying base model. We’re working from the inside not the outside in. It’s about alignment – not effort. It’s about relationship and trust, not performance.

While specific results can never be guaranteed, I have personally experienced – and witnessed in my clients – the amazing transformation this approach facilitates. The method was developed by reverse-engineering the process I discovered from healing my own painful – and life-threatening – issues surrounding food, exercise, my body and my weight. By following the 5 Steps of the Happy Calories Don’t Count® Method, you will find freedom from food and exercise issues, enhance your self-esteem, feel more confident in your body, optimize your physical results, and improve your overall well-being and happiness. And if you need help, I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way!

Just the other day, I had a moment of surrender that made me realize the fight was over, just like the surrender you’ve talked about. I finally quit, I didn’t need to fight food or myself any longer. It happened a few days after I gave up on the lingering diet mentality thoughts (thanks to you and the teeter totter diet idea), there was no more problem to hold on to. Like I posted before ‘I want to work with my body and not with a diet,” this phrase came to me like your phrase “happy calories, don’t count,” which I absolutely love, because it is utterly true they don’t. It’s nice to eat what I want, when I wanted without the idea that I am “bad” for “emotionally eating.” What a big misunderstood concept. You cleared that all that up for me. When I surrendered, I realized that there was never a problem with me, I didn’t need to be fixed because I was never broken. I was just not in alignment with myself (a new and exciting term I learned from you), and now I understand what self sabotage actually is, it is being out of alignment with yourself. Plus, I can finally have the relationship that I wanted with my body now that the fight is over. I simply don’t care what I do with food, I give it no attention. Everything just feels right. Food really doesn’t bother me anymore because I refuse to give it any power over me. I am choosing to not focus or get emotionally involved with it. Food is just food and how I feel physically and emotionally matter more to me than trying to live up to any standard. I just let things happen and follow what feels good and makes me happy. It feels like new ground, as I feel like a new person. Thank you!
